A 12 BORE SINGLE BARREL PERCUSSION SPORTING GUN BY COCKSEDGE OF HADLEIGH, CIRCA 1850, no visible serial number, with 33 1/2 in twist barrel, engraved with a starburst and the retailers name inlaid with silver 'COCKSEDGE HADLEIGH', at the breech, nipple bolster with platinum plug, the breech area heavily corroded, foliate engraved bar-action lock the front area below the bolster heavily pitted, nipple corroded and broken, iron mounted walnut half-stocked with chequered wrist, the maker was Henry Cocksedge of Hadleigh Suffolk, established 1838-1869.
