Our Objectives

In recent times an increasing number of our clients have been asking about the proceeds of the sale of their guns going towards charitable causes. HOLTS, the country’s leading auctioneers of ‘Fine Modern and Antique Guns’, have been long-standing supporters of various charities that are close to our hearts.

We have now put a programme in place to facilitate our clients supporting the charities below. We will not charge any seller’s premium on donated items.

HOLTS have for many years handled the collection and sale of guns, accessories and related items in a discreet and sensitive way.

If you would like one of these charities to benefit from any items that are now surplus to requirements, please use the contact form below. For more information, to discuss a legacy or donating an item to different charity please do get in touch with David Thurgood on 01297 306 123 or email westcountry@holtsauctioneers.com

The Beneficiaries

Gamekeepers Welfare Trust

“Being there for gamekeepers, stalkers and ghillies". The Gamekeepers Welfare Trust exists to support gamekeepers, their families, past present and future through grant aid and assistance alongside Jamie’s Helpline: 0300 1233088 which is confidential and open 24/7 to listen, provide information and support at any time and for as long as required.

Bob Champion Cancer Trust

The Bob Champion Cancer Trust supports vital research into male cancers, particularly of the prostate, to help identify and treat the disease and ultimately find a cure. These studies take place within their two research facilities at the Institute of Cancer Research and the University of East Anglia.

On going projects include work to establish clinical markers to help predict behaviour allowing radical therapies to be targeted to men with significant, aggressive forms of the disease, so the remainder, with biologically unimportant disease, are spared the side-effects of treatment.

Gurkha Welfare Trust

The Gurkha Welfare Trust provides vital financial, medical and development aid to Gurkha veterans, their families, and their wider communities across Nepal. Operating through 21 Area Welfare Centres, spread across traditional Gurkha recruiting areas, GWT deliver a package of care that ensures these brave Gurkha veterans can live with the dignity they deserve.

The Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust

The Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust has been undertaking the research that shapes our countryside for almost 90 years. Working closely with land managers, conservationists, farmers and the fieldsports community, its team of over 60 scientists provide answers to the difficult questions and use those to inform wider policy and practice.
