circa 1875, with reblued 30in. octagonal barrel, the top flat marked 'HENRY'S PATENT RIFLING', and 'RIFLE FOR No2 CASE', block mounted fore-sight and express rear sights with six silver-inlaid folding leaf sights for 100, 200, 300, 400, 500 and 600 yards plus an adjustable ladder, the action with bold scroll engraving, the left side also with central banner engraved 'WESLEY RICHARDS PATENT, 170 NEW BOND ST, LONDON', the back of receiver with stippled finish, ring-tip to the underlever, polished feed-ramp, 14 1/4in. well-figured straight-hand stock (cracked, repaired and pinned at head), steel buttplate with trap, sling eyes, detachable bolstered fore-end with horn finial, and replacement under-barrel wood ramrod, weight 9lb. 11oz.
