circa 1840, with plain 1 3/8in. turn-off barrels (frozen), falsely rifled at muzzle for a key (missing), engraved bands at muzzle and breech, London proved lozenge breech marked 'LONDON' on one side and 'PATENT' on the other, border and acanthus scroll engraved boxlock action signed 'LANG, HAYMARKET' on the left, central hammer, folding automatic trigger, sliding safe to the top-strap (incomplete), chequered walnut bag-shaped butt and engraved white metal butt-cap
