A RARE 18-BORE FLINTLOCK PISTOL, MODEL 'FLAT-FRONT QUEEN ANNE', no visible serial number,
circa 1740, with 6in. turn-off cannon barrel (frozen), scroll engraving and moulded band at breech, borderline and scroll engraved lock with clipped front and signed 'FARMER' on the bar, recumbent 'L' shaped frizzen spring, possible working replacement cock, walnut 1/4 stock with hallmarked silver butt-cap (mark obscured) depicting a lion crushing a stone tower, white metal wire inlays to grip including a marshall trophy to the wrist, moulded white metal escutcheon, moulded brass furniture including trigger guard with feathered finial, pierced trophy sideplate and front face-plate
