A SCARCE .32-35 (STEVENS) & 10-BORE SINGLE-SHOT SPORTING GUN WITH INTERCHANGEABLE BARRELS, serial no. 1494,
built to 'A Dickerman's Patent of 1885', with heavy two-stage 26in. blued barrel, the top-flat signed 'M.F.D. BY THE STRONG FIRE ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN CONN.', dove-tailed beaded-blade fore-sight, no provision on the barrel for rear-sight, off-set top-lever colour-hardened scroll engraved box-lock action, both action sides with the patent details engraved within a banner, the right rear of receiver engraved with a 'W.S.I' monogram, the opposite side with an inter-twined '86', the top-tang fitted with a ladder peep-sight, figured half-pistol American walnut butt-stock, chequered hard rubber heel-plate, engraved trigger-guard bow with sliding safe forwards of the trigger-blade, chequered walnut fore-end with push-rod release, the whole retaining much colour and finish; TOGETHER WITH a fine damascus round 30in. 10-bore barrel for the same action, matching number and signed in an identical fashion
