circa 1805, with browned twist-iron 34in. rifled barrels, the sunken top rib signed in gold 'JOVER & SON, LONDON', the signature bracketed with lines of three gold dots, gold fore-sight bead, two gold lines of different widths at breech, fully engraved top-tang with moulded sighting channel inlaid with gold needles, plain locks signed in script 'JOVER' and with radiused and engraved stepped tails, rain-proof pans, gold-lined touch-holes, borderline engraved frizzen-fronts, walnut half-stock (inlet repairs behind both locks), rechequered at the wrist, silver border-engraved vacant oval to top of wrist, raised cheek-piece to the left hand side, engraved iron furniture including side-mounted fore-end guards, substantial nose-cap with star-burst engraving around the ramrod throat, two iron ramrod thimbles with rolled ends and brass-mounted mahogany ramrod
