probably assembled from pre-existing parts circa 1800, with octagonal to round tapering 11 1/4in. barrel profusely decorated with applied white metal bands, running vines and panels of arabesque scrolls incorporating centrally on the top-flat a deeply struck barrel-maker's tughra, the decoration extending along the top-tang, borderline engraved flat lock with stepped and pointed tail and signed 'KNUBLEY' below the pan, bridleless frizzen, working replacement swan-necked cock, walnut full-stock of Persian form decorated with white metal wire scrolls, engraved stars and recumbent moons, long-eared engraved and moulded brass butt-cap, engraved sideplate (probably later replacement), engraved brass trigger-guard with pineapple style finial and frozen (possibly false) blackened wood ramrod, filled repairs to both fore-end edges and wrist
