Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that gun no. 37348 was started on 12th December 1888 as an 'ejector, No.1 Model' with 30in. barrels and completed on the 2nd August 1889, to be sold through the Company's London Showrooms.

Gun no. 37406 was started on the 7th January and completed 'on the same day as its matching pair on the 2nd August 1889'.

In a letter to the current vendor, Graham Greener indicates that 'although these guns would be described as a composite pair since the numbers are not consecutive, there is no doubt that they were actually made as a pair'.
