Japanese, late Edo period and martially produced, with octagonal 25in. iron barrel, block fore-sight, block rear-sight, brass barrel retaining band at breech, swinging brass pan-cover, plain elongated brass lockplate with large external brass mainspring, hand-cocked serpentine match-holder, wooded full-stock of classic form with isolated brass decoration and match aperture, guarded ball trigger, missing muzzle-band from the fore-end and under-barrel ramrod
