concealed below grip, Birmingham made circa 1880, with nickel plated octagonal 2 3/4in. barrel, the top-flat engraved 'J. PADDON', the top-strap engraved 'ENGLISH BULL DOG', engraved band at muzzle and scroll engraving to breech-sides, plain plated cylinder with engraved border to leading edge, scroll engraved solid frame with side loading gate, swing-out ejector, double action mechanism and chequered ebony semi birdshead grips (toes on both sides lacking), the back-strap, heel and trigger guard bow also scroll engraved, overall length 8in.
