dated for 1864, probably Spanish, with octagonal to round 6in. barrel, dove-tailed bead fore-sight, plain six-shot cylinder with external ratchet locking, single-action mechanism, plunge ejector, smooth walnut grips, faceted iron pommel-cap with lanyard ring, guarded trigger with finger-spur, traces of blued finish, 12 1/4in. overall, weight approximately 2lbs.
