SCHERPING IN HANNOVER', bead fore-sight, engraved band at breech, border, gamescene and scroll engraved long top-tang, fully floral, border and gamescene engraved back-action locks, carved and engraved hammers, chequered walnut butt-stock with raised cheek-piece, iron heel-plate, moulded horn lower tang cover, carved and engraved trigger-guard bow, scroll and gamescene engraved action, chequered walnut splinter fore-end and horn covered Lefaucheux swing under-lever with engraved axis boss, strong amount of finish
Other Notes: Scherping was a favoured maker to the Hanoverian Royal Family, with many weapons of this quality being so acquired
