BRISTOL.', block-mounted adjustable fore-sight, hinged back-position rearsight (sights in wood case), receiver with action number 831, frame number 322, blued cocking lever, receiver and furniture profusely engraved with fine acanthus and with central 'GEORGE GIBBS - BRISTOL' in an oval to the left side, retaining much colour-hardening, 14 1/4in. figured pistolgrip stock with horn pistolgrip-cap and including 3/4in. rubber recoil pad, silver escutcheon engraved 'LT. COL. D. HARRIS.', in its full length brass-cornered oak-lined leather case (lid detached); together with a George Gibbs range box containing the sight box and an unused George Gibbs 'Gibbs-Metford' target diagram booklet
