Product Details

A .66 PATTERN 1847 PERCUSSION PAGET CAVALRY CARBINE MARKED 'R.C.H. 380', CIRCA 1848,
with 16in. smoothbore barrel with faint Ordnance proofs at breech, the tang with fixed vee rear-sight and swivel rammer hinged at the muzzle, borderline engraved lock with stepped tail stamped 'TOWER', and struck with the Crown 'G.R.' cypher to the centre, regulation brass mounted full stock with side rib, the butt with an Enfield roundel dated 1848, the buttcap tang engraved 'R.C.H'. 380' (Royal Canadian Hussars?)

Provenance: The Pattern 1847 Paget percussion carbine came into being due to the requirement to provide percussion arms for the Yeomanry and to make use of large quantities of parts in store for the old Paget flintlock carbine. Whilst some old flintlock Paget's were converted to percussion research indicates that most of the percussion Paget's were made up as new, out of old parts
