AN EXPERTLY RESTORED .44-40 SINGLE-ACTION SERVICE-REVOLVER, MODEL 'SERIES ONE SINGLE ACTION ARMY', serial no. 116806,
for 1885, with blued 7 1/2in. barrel (light stains only to bore), single line signature, 'DFC' inspector's initials at breech, applied blade fore-sight, fully colour hardened solid frame marked with three lines of patents and 'US', blued fluted cylinder with last four digits of serial number and 'DFC' initials, colour hardened hammer, blued trigger, blued grip-straps and trigger-guard, smooth walnut grip with oval martial cartouche to lower left side and the date '1884' above, the right hand side with rectangular martial cartouche, the whole expertly restored externally and retaining virtually all its renewed finish
