30in. Whitworth-steel nitro chopperlump barrels, the rib engraved 'J. WOODWARD & SONS. 64. ST. JAMES'S' STREET. LONDON. S.W. MADE OF SIR JOSEPH WHITWORTH'S FLUID PRESSED STEEL.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, arcaded fences with side-clips, removable striker discs, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, protruding tumbler pivots with gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, profusely engraved with fine acanthus scrollwork, the rib, toplever and fore-end finial with small raised florally engraved ovals, retaining slight traces of colour-hardening (possibly historically renewed), 14 3/4in. well-figured stock including buttplate, chequering refreshed, weight 6lb. 10oz., in a brass-cornered oak and leather hammergun case with later Purdey trade label and gun specification label
