30in. Whitworth-steel nitro reproved chopperlump barrels, ribs engraved 'J. PURDEY & SONS. AUDLEY HOUSE. SOUTH AUDLEY STREET. LONDON. MADE OF SIR JOSEPH WHITWORTH'S FLUID PRESSED STEEL', and '1' and '2' at the breech ends, 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 3/4 choke, wall thicknesses below recommended minimum, the new 30in. nitro chopperlump barrels (circa 1984), rib engraved 'EXTRA BARRELS TO J. PURDEY GUN NO. 17671 BY HARTMANN & WEISS' with a '1' and gold star at the breech end, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 3/4 choke in both;
self-opening actions with removable striker discs, toplevers engraved '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, arrow cocking-indicators, fine acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets, retaining some renewed colour-hardening and finish, 15 5/8in. well-figured stocks including 1in. wooden extensions, weight 6lb. 9oz., No.1 with extra barrels weight 6lb. 14oz., in their oak and leather case with virtually full complement of accessories and canvas and leather outer, with a universal barrel case for the extra barrels
