29 7/8in. black powder only bold damascus barrels (remains within original black powder proof, flats also carry later nitro reproof marks but these are incomplete) rib engraved 'CHARLES LANCASTER. 151 NEW BOND ST. LONDON. PATENT BREECH LOADER', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. in both, wall thicknesses below recommended minimum, Charles Lancaster patent slide-and-tilt action with patent rotary-underlever, recessed bosses, striker discs, non-rebounding back-action locks, hammers with spurs of hare's-ear form, best bold acanthus scroll engraving, the triggerguard tang with a brace of pheasant, 14 5/8in. historic replacement stock, fore-end with light damage, weight 6lb. 10oz.
