circa 1876, 30in. black powder only bold damascus barrels (loose on action), the rib engraved 'JAMES BEATTIE & SON. 205. REGENT STREET. LONDON.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. choke in both, some pits, carved percussion fences, rebounding back-action locks, J. Purdey patent thumbhole underlever, patent no. 1104 of 2nd May 1863, border and acanthus scroll engraving, brushed and reblued finish overall (some surface patination), 14in. stock (cast off towards central vision) including horn buttplate, weight 6lb. 12oz.
