for between 1863-78, with 7 3/8in. octagonal barrel signed PATENTED SEPT 14 1858 E. REMINGTON & SONS ILION NEWYORK USA' and marked 'NEW MODEL', pinched blade fore-sight, top-strap with sighting groove, solid iron frame, plain six-shot cylinder with safety notches, brass trigger guard and smooth walnut grips (iron surfaces refinished in antiquity, grips worn at toes)
