A HUNT & ROSKELL VICTORIAN OFFICERS CAMPAIGN FOOT LOCKER, a metal reinforced oak chest, the internal measurement approx. 22 3/4in. x 12 1/4in. x 10 1/2in., the interior has been re-lined with green baize, brass plaque with makers name 'HUNT & ROSKELL STORE MORTIMER & HUNT, 156 New Bond Street, London' the lid exterior with a central brass plaque engraved 'Capt. CHARLES LENNOX PEEL, 7th HUSSARS'

Provenance: Sir Charles Lennox Peel was born on the 19th January 1823, grandson of Sir Robert Peel, founder of the modern police force. He served with the 7th Queen's Own Hussars until 1860 and subsequently became Clark Of The Privy Council from 1875 to 1893. He was made Order Of The Bath in 1890. He married the Hon Caroline Chichester, daughter of Baron Templemore in 1848 and died on 19th August 1899.
