given out to the Officers and men at Christmas 1914 in a choice of two types, one containing chocolate, the other tobacco as represented here, the tin embossed with a portrait of Princess Mary together with the names of various allied nations, the inside containing a photograph of the Princess together with a .303 cartridge case engraved with her monogram and fitted with a silver bullet sliding out to reveal a pencil, a pack of un-filtered cigarettes (opened, one missing), and a pack of rolling tobacco (some damage and slight loss to contents), missing the original greeting card, the tin in fine unpolished condition
