for 1884, with 2 1/4in. tapering blued barrel, the top signed on three lines 'COLTS PT FA MFG CO, HARTFORD CT USA, DEPOT 14 PALL MALL LONDON', the left side of barrel etched 'COLT HOUSE .38', crescent fore-sight, blued solid frame with loading gate, sheath trigger, blued long-fluted cylinder and chequered hard-rubber grips embossed at the tops with the 'Colt' trademark, much original blued finish remaining, London proofs
