circa 1846, with 30 1/4in. shortened twist barrels, the top-rib with faint signature 'JOSEPH KEMP. 31 DUKE ST. GLOUCESTER SQUARE, LONDON', border and scroll engraved patent breeches each with pierced platinum plug and inlaid with a single gold-line on the rib-end, border and scroll engraved tang, scroll engraved bar-action locks signed 'JOSEPH KEMP' (both hammers replaced in antiquity), figured walnut pistolgrip half-stock (small chip to left edge of fore-end) with chequered grip and fore-end, engraved iron mounts, silver escutcheon, and iron-tipped ramrod with worm tip, London proofs.
