BONEHILL, MODEL' THE IMPROVED MODEL BRITANNIA'. serial no 1043, circa 1910, with 19 1/2in. barrel, blade fore-sight, adjustable ramp rear-sight, over-cocking air-chamber stamped 'THE IMPROVED MODEL BRITANNIA AIR RIFLE' over 'PATENTEE & SOLE MANUFACTURER' over 'C. G. BONEHILL, BELMONT FIREARMS WORKS BIRMINGHAM', the slab-sided action body stamped 'THE BRITANNIA AIR RIFLE' together with a picture of Britannia and 'TRADE MARK REGD', saw-gripped chequered walnut butt-stock (broken through and repaired at wrist) and iron heel-plate (action at fault, traces of original finish, especially to barrel, air chamber pitted externally, nut missing from master bolt of action body)
