English, circa 1700, with hollow-ground 12 1/4in. spear-point blade false edged for the last 5 1/2in. (stained, shallow pitted, extreme tip absent and large chip to blade edge), star-shaped armourers mark to left hand face near hilt, brass symmetrical moulded cross-guard with 'knights-head' quillions, turned tapering horn baluster hilt (some shrinkage) and brass bulbous banded pommel, no scabbard
