29in. nitro chopperlump barrels, ribs gold-inlaid '1' and 2' at the breech ends, and re-engraved with acanthus scroll detailing and 'BOSS & CO, 73, ST. JAMES'S STREET LONDON', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. in all, wall thicknesses below recommended minimum, toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, cocking-indicators (No.1 tumblers blued, No.2 blued with gold inlay), Boss 1894 improved patent single-triggers, rolled-edge triggerguards, No.1 gun double bite with minor extension, ejector slides possible replacements, best fine acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets, retaining traces of colour-hardening and renewed finish, 15in. figured stocks including 1in. leather covered recoil pads, weight 6lb. 12oz., in their brass-cornered oak and leather case, the lid outer marked 'PENRY WILLIAMS. MIDDLESBOROUGH'

Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that this pair was completed for Penry Williams. Unfortunately no date is recorded but the serial numbers indicate a date of manufacture circa 1901-1905
