A FINE AND RARE 10.6mm (MAUSER) SIX-SHOT SINGLE ACTION REVOLVER, MODEL 1878 'ZIG-ZAG', serial no. 2077,
circa 1885, with blued 5 1/2in. barrel, the sighting rib signed 'WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER OBERNDORF A/NECKAR', crescent fore-sight, notch rear-sight, peacock-blued cylinder with characteristic 'zig-zag' slots, plain frame with cylinder safety and hammer axis-pin retainer mounted on left hand side, swept-back gutta-percha grips bordered with raised arabesque vines, colour-hardened hammer and opening latch, the whole in fine order with much original finish remaining (some speckled staining)
