A CASED .36 SINGLE-ACTION REVOLVER, MODEL 'COLT'S 1851 LONDON NAVY', serial no. 38408,
for 1855, with octagonal 7 1/2in. London proved barrel, the top-flat signed 'ADDRESS COL. COLT LONDON', six-shot cylinder with roll-engraved naval scene, open iron frame marked 'COLTS PATENT', iron grip-straps and trigger-guard, smooth walnut one-piece grip and articulated under-barrel rammer, dome-head screws, retaining minimal traces of finish (some light bruising), all matching numbers, 13 3/4in. overall, weight approximately 2 1/2lbs., in an apparent original US market walnut case, the lid with vacant rectangular central escutcheon, the lower left corner of lid stamped with '7TH CAV' within a rectangular border (faint), central lock (key absent), the interior lined and compartmented in customary Colt style with green baize, the inside of lid with period parchment instruction label and complete with a Sykes Patent silver-plated copper flask, steel double cavity Colt Patent mould (cleaned) and reproduction 'L' shaped nipple key
