circa 1860 and patent use number 1861, with round blued 37in. barrel, tunnel fore-sight adjustable on a worm, match style vernier ladder rear-sight, moulded fence with offset nipple, border and scroll engraved articulated toggle-action breech with patent use and serial numbers, border and scroll engraved bar-action lock signed 'COOPER & GOODMAN', chequered walnut pistol-grip half-stock with border engraved iron heel-plate, moulded horn pistol-grip cap, plain trigger with engraved bow and rounded horn fore-end tip, fitted with eyelet for sling on barrel, no provision for ramrod, strong traces of probable original finish throughout
