A WORLD WAR TWO GERMAN INFANTRY OFFICER'S SWORD,
wartime production, with slightly curved, narrow, blind-fullered plated 35in. blade, makers stamp at forte, bronzed tobak hilt with straight crossguard with rolled quillion to one side, the front moulded with a straight-winged eagle clutching a wreathed swastika device, the reverse with shield-shaped langet engraved 'I.A' over 'SCH', 'P' shaped knuckle-bow (cracked and period armourer repaired at join with pommel), wire-bound ribbed celluloid grip and moulded backstrap (cracked and repaired) with carved 'ears' and eagle and swastika pommel, together with its black painted iron scabbard with single loose suspension ring and side loop
