A RARE GERMAN WORLD WAR I ERSATZ BAYONET FOR THE MAUSER RIFLE, circa 1917, with 12 in. single-edged steel blade fullered on both sides, blade back with inspection marks, steel cross-guard with open-topped muzzle ring and down-pointed quillion, steel all-steel hilt with two large domed rivits securing the tang, together with its black leather scabbard with steel fittings, some surface rust to the blade and light pitting to the exposed metalwork, 19 3/4 in. overall
