A 11.15 x 60MM KYNOCH PATENT CHASSEPOT CONVERSION BOLT ACTION RIFLE CIRCA 1885, serial no 9116,
with 32 in. barrel, block and blade front-sight, rear-sight broken and ladder missing, bayonet bar at muzzle the blued barrel stamped 'KYNOCK GUN FACTORY ASTON'' and with the cartridge designation 'MUSKET 43-77-380', the action body stamped on the left 'KYNOCK PATENT', iron mounted full walnut stock, these Kynock patent rifles were conversions of surplus Chassepot needlefire rifles to centrefire and to accept the 11mm Mauser cartridge, the conversions conforms to H. Schlund's British patent 8998 of 1885 and probably part of a Chinese contract, bolt cocking piece and clearing rod missing
