A VINTAGE FAIRBURN SYKES DAGGER, possibly late war, with brushed bright 6 7/8in. double-edged blade, steel oval cross-guard, ribbed copper-alloy hilt marked with cross-keys device and a '*' over 'D' and probable replacement brass pommel-nut, with a modified leather scabbard (belt back-piece and sleeve-tabs removed)
