A PATTERN 1912 WORLD WAR I CAVALRY OFFICER'S SWORD,
circa 1915, with 35 1/4in. blade, fullered and etched with scroll-work to both sides, blade back etched with 'MADE & PROVED IN INDIA' and numbered '235', ricasso etched 'MANTON / & Co / CALCUTTA', steel bowl-guard with etched scrolled floral design, brass pommel, black leather covered grip bound by copper wire over wood together with its brown leather scabbard, some staining to blade and etching is light, losses to leather on lower part of grip, scabbard worn, 43in. overall
