A PATTERN 1890 CAVALRY TROOPER'S SWORD issue date 1899, with 33 1/2in. slightly curved, double-fullered blade carrying Enfield inspection marks and 'EFD' and 'Broad Arrow' on ricasso, steel guard pierced with Maltese Cross and stamped 'P L D G / 51' , chequered leather grips, scabbard dated 1896, with Enfield inspection marks, 'WD' and Broad Arrow, and 'sold out of service' mark on throat, grips with losses to leather, scabbard heavily cleaned with shallow dents and 'salt & pepper' pitting, 41in. overall
