AN ORNAMENTAL ORIENTAL BONE SWORD, circa 1900, in imitation of a Japanese 'tachi' cavalry sabre and made for the Grand Tourist market, with multi-piece 20 1/2in. slightly curved 'blade', large doughnut shaped 'tsuba' the border engraved with ferns, plain grip engraved with oriental motifs and fitted with carved caps to each end, the scabbard en-suite and with further larger carvings near the tip and at the suspension mounts (scabbard currently unglued approximately 1/3rd of the way along, both suspension loops absent)
