WILLIAM POWELL & SON 20-BORE 1876 PATENT TOPLEVER BAR-IN-WOOD HAMMERGUN, serial no. 6915, for 1881, 28in. sleeved nitro barrels (by the makers in 1971), retaining original rib (inscription rubbed), 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/4 choke, Powell patent rotating single bolt snap action, patent no. 493 of 1876, use number 245, slender toplever, carved percussion fences, broad strikers, rebounding sidelocks, border and crosshatch engraving, brushed bright and reblued finish overall, 14 3/8in. stock with steel heel and toe plates, weight 5lb. 10oz.
