HOLLAND & HOLLAND .22LR (CONVERTED) SINGLE-BARRELLED HAMMERLESS ROOK RIFLE, serial no. 18971, circa 1894, 26in. nitro reproved octagonal barrel, Parkerifled to .22LR from .295 rook in 1950, partially file cut top flat with open sights and two folding leaf sights, bead fore-sight, the breech end with vintage telescopic sight mount bases, the sides engraved (some losses from mount bases) 'HOLLAND & HOLLAND. 98 NEW BOND ST. LONDON', and WINNERS OF ALL THE "FIELD" RIFLE TRIALS' and (calibre overstamped) 'SEMI SMOOTH BORE', automatic safety with silver-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, removable striker disc, non-selective ejector, partially engraved with fine acanthus scrollwork, poor replacement bottomplate screw, retaining traces of colour-hardening, 14 3/4in. pistolgrip stock with steel pistolgrip-cap, Hackett snap fore-end with horn finial, weight 5lb. 10oz.
