for 1924, 26in. nitro reproved barrels converted to 9.3x74mm in 1999, the tubes freshly engraved 'CALIBRE 9.3X74R FOR 285 GRAIN BULLET. WILLIAM EVANS. 63, PALL MALL. ST. JAMES'S. LONDON.', file cut sight rib with open sights and two folding leaf sights, white metal-inlaid sight lines and marked for 100, 200 and 300 yards, ramp-mounted folding foresight, bead fore-sight with flip-up moonsight on one side, folds over to expose a blade fore-sight on the other, the breech end mounted with a Zeiss Varipoint V 1,1-4x24 T* telescopic sight, serial no. 2505880, in quickly-detachable mounts, the rings engraved with the rifle serial number and calibre, treble-grip action, removable striker discs, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, border and acanthus scroll engraving, traces of renewed colour-hardening and finish, 14 1/2in. pistolgrip stock with engraved steel pistolgrip-cap, sling eyes and including 7/8in. rubber recoil pad, fore-end with grip-catch release lever, weight 9lb. 6oz. (unscoped) and 10lb. 10oz. (with scope), in a fully fitted brass-cornered leather case with William Evans trade label and charges label, with provision for telescopic sight, horn snap block, cleaning rod, leather pouch with cleaning heads (and case key), turnscrews and striker disc key, snap caps, nickel oil bottle and two glass solvent / rangoon oil bottles, together with various sighting targets
