for 1891, with blued octagonal 26in. barrel, the top-flat signed 'MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW-HAVEN CONN. U.S.A', nickel bladed fore-sight (cut with a further blanked off dovetail behind), buckhorn rear-sight (left side modified possibly to accommodate a side mounted telescopic sight), slab-sided receiver (slight traces of colour), blued bolt and hammer, top-tang marked 'MODEL 1886', walnut straight-hand butt-stock with iron crescent heel-plate, iron finger-lever (slight traces of colour), walnut fore-end and iron nose-cap, fitted with a full-length tubular under-barrel magazine, overall length 45in., weight approximately 9 3/4lbs.
