SMF, SOLINGEN
A GERMAN 1934 PATTERN DRESS SWORD FOR THE LUFTWAFFE, no visible serial number,
pre 1940, with plated lozenge cross-section 28in. blade (some mild staining), central blind fuller for the first third of its length, makers mark at forte, carved and possibly originally plated cross-guard in the form of drooping eagle wings, the centre mounted with a sunwheel swastika device, spiral wire-bound blue-leather grip-piece (light wear), large sunwheel swastika disk pommel with oakleaves engraved around the edge and complete with its blue leather scabbard (small losses to leather) with plated fittings (tarnished), and together with its blue leather belt-frog
