for 1860, with octagonal 4in. barrel signed on two lines on the top-flat near breech 'ADDRESS COL SAML COLT HARTFORD CT.', open iron frame marked 'COLTS PATENT', plain cylinder with roll engraved scene, brass grip-straps and trigger guard (traces of silver plating) and smooth walnut grip, no finish, wedge miss-matched and together with a later wood case re-lined and compartmented for this revolver and including a later flask, caps and damascus-bladed turnscrew
