A CASED 54-BORE PERCUSSION REVOLVER, MODEL 'ADAMS' PATENT', serial no. 30562,
circa 1856, with blued octagonal 5 1/2in. barrel, the top-strap signed 'CALISHER & TERRY, LONDON. CONTRACTORS TO H.M. WAR DEPARTMENT', dove-tailed bead fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, plain five-shot cylinder, blued borderline engraved frame with sliding cylinder lock to the right hand side (action slightly at fault), spurred hammer, semi saw-handled chequered walnut grip, guarded trigger and hinged patent side-rammer, strong amount of finish remaining, complete in its makers walnut case compartmented and lined in dark blue baize, Calisher & Terry green parchment trade label inside lid and containing a period flask, cleaning rod, turnscrew, nipple-key, oil bottle, cap-tin and correct but un-numbered double cavity brass bullet mould
