circa 1775, with 40 1/2in. rebrowned two-stage swamped barrel with chiselled girdle and signed 'LONG ACRE. LONDON' on the octagonal breech-section, silver spider fore-sight, foliate engraved tang, flat bevelled border engraved lock signed 'JOVER' (cock an old replacement), figured walnut half-stock (reduced from full stock) with applied leather cheek-pad and carved in relief with a shell around the barrel tang, chequered grip, engraved iron mounts including butt-plate decorated with a martial trophy and trigger-guard with acorn finial, later brass-mounted ramrod (some corrosion to iron parts), Tower private proof marks
