AN EARLY CASED 140-BORE PRE-CHARGED PNEUMATIC AIR-CANE, no visible serial number,
circa 1845, with tapering muzzle-loading 20in. micro-rifled barrel-section, replacement brass nose-cap and ramrod, missing fore-sight bead, standing notch rear-sight, concealed button trigger cocked via a key, plain straight 17 1/4in. air-reservoir with crooked ivory grip (cracked), the barrel and reservoir body painted in imitation of bamboo (losses), complete in its retailer's mahogany fitted case lined and compartmented in green baize, Joseph Egg trade-label inside lid and including the original stirrup pump, footplate and cocking key together with a later bullet-mould
