A SCARCE CASED 140-BORE PERCUSSION POCKET TRANSITIONAL REVOLVER, UNSIGNED, no visible serial number,
circa 1845, with London proved micro-rifled 3 1/2in. octagonal barrel, scroll engraved detail to muzzle and breech, dove-tailed pillar fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, both off-set for sighting, fully floral engraved cylinder arbor-mount, sprung and articulated side-mounted rammer, plain cylinder with rope-bordered leading edge, each chamber numbered from '1' to '6' on the front face, border engraved nipple-shield, fully scroll engraved radiused action body with engraved off-set central hammer, possibly originally fitted with a detachable nose now absent, safety stops between the nipples, asymmetric sliding safe mounted diagonally across the back-strap, chequered walnut grip with small silver oval escutcheon to wrist and with engraved iron pommel cap with central trap-door, guarded trigger with engraved bow, the whole retaining much of a possibly original London blue and complete with its walnut storage box lined and compartmented in green baize and including a full suite of accessories, namely a bullet mould loading rod combined, a pewter oil bottle, a small bag-shaped flask, a horn nipple-pot, a tin of Joyce's caps, a turn screw and a nipple-key
