A BRITISH ROYAL AIR FORCE OFFICER'S 1920 PATTERN DRESS SWORD, UNSIGNED, serial no. 16885,
pre World War Two and almost certainly by Wilkinson Sword, London, with straight broad blind-fullered 32 1/2in. blade etched with vacant banners on a background of foliage and contained within arabesque borders, the centres with the RAF eagle on the left side and Royal crest to the right, inlet proofmark and Star of David mark at forte, pierced and gilded half-basket hilt with turned down inner guard, the bowl with a King George device (the roman numeral deliberately removed) and an oval panel with a crowned eagle, white wire-bound sharkskin grip, carved back-strap with eagle head pommel and compete with its gilded brass mounted black leather scabbard (gilding worn on scabbard) and bullion sword knot
