25in. nitro reproved original chopperlump barrels (in 1985, shortened) with gold bands at the breech ends, matt Churchill-rib with intermediate bead sight, the tubes gold-inlaid with the makers name and engraved 'GUN & RIFLE MANUFACTURER. 8. AGAR ST. STRAND. LONDON. W.C.', 3in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. and imp. cyl. choke;
new 24 3/4in. nitro chopperlump barrels (in 1939) with gold bands at the breech ends, matt Churchill-rib gold-inlaid 'XXV', the tubes gold-inlaid with the makers name and engraved '(GUNMAKERS) LTD. 39 TO 42 LEICESTER SQUARE. LONDON.', 3in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke;
automatic safety with engraved brass 'SAFE' plaque, gold-washed ejector work, gold-washed tumbler pivots and pins, chequered front trigger, rolled-edge triggerguard, fully engraved with fine acanthus scrollwork, the underside gold-inlaid with the EJC monogram in blackletter script, retaining virtually full renewed colour-hardening and with gold line highlighting, 15in. well-figured semi-pistolgrip stock including 1 3/4in. wooden extension, broad beavertail fore-end with ornate chequering, the iron with acanthus scrollwork and gold line detail, weight 7lb. 3oz. (original barrels) and 7lb. 6oz., (new barrels), in a lightweight 'V.C.' leather case with provision for both sets of barrels

Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that the gun was completed circa 1898 and was actioned by Southgate. The extra barrels were supplied by them in 1939.
